Our Training Sessions

DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, GROUP TRAINING IS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED. WE HOPE TO RESUME OUR RUNNING AND CYCLING SESSIONS FROM MONDAY 29TH MARCH. OUR SWIMMING SESSIONS WILL RESUME ONCE HALEWSOWEN LEISURE CENTRE IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL AGAIN.

Our regular training sessions usually start and finish from the Halesowen Leisure Centre (HLC), Great Cornbow, Halesowen, B63 3AF.

DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC WE WILL BE MEETING ON THE PUBLIC CAR PARK ON BIRMINGHAM STREET TO ALLOW US EXTRA ROOM TO GATHER BEFORE THE SESSION.

Monday

7.00 – 7.45pm

Coached Swimming Session at Halesowen Leisure Centre.

Cobra members attending the coached swim session (Mondays 19.00–19.45pm) pay just £1.00 for the swim and £2.00 for the coaching session (£3.00) total.  If you are a Leisure Centre Member you may need to show your membership card at the desk and then pay just the £2.00. This is great value as we get our swim and coaching for less than the cost of an adult swim.

The above rates only apply to the Coached session on a Monday evening and not for general public swim times.

A qualified BTA Coach leads the Cobra session on Monday evenings 19.00-19.45pm

Tuesday

6.30 – 8.00pm

Long Run Session approximately 7-9 miles intermediate pace.
Please be ready to start outside the front entrance of the Leisure Centre 5-10 mins before the start time.

Wednesday

7.00 – 8.00pm

Medium Run Session approximately 5 miles steady pace, start/stop.  Ideal for regular steady runners or runners coming back from injury.
Beginners Run Session, there is also a second group that runs at 7pm, ideal for begginers that run around 3miles/5km.
Please be ready to start outside the front entrance of the Leisure Centre 5-10 mins before the start time.

6.30 – 8.00pm (Summer Only) – ORGANISED ON AN AD-HOC BASIS SUBJECT TO DEMAND

Cycle Session approximately 10 miles focus on short hills and sprints, summer only.
Please be ready to start outside the front entrance of the Leisure Centre 5-10 mins before the start time.

Thursday

7.00 – 8.00pm

Medium Run Session approximately 4-6 miles hill reps and interval training.  In the summer months we meet on the car park on St Kenelms Pass.
Please be ready to start outside the front entrance of the Leisure Centre 5-10 mins before the start time. From April to September please be ready to start at the car park at the top of St Kenelms Pass 5-10 mins before the start time (as the light begins to fade in the autumn we may move the start time forward to allow for light).

Saturday

11.00am – 2.00pm ORGANISED ON AN AD HOC BASIS SUBJECT TO DEMAND

Cycle Session approximately 20 miles weather and season dependant.  Arranged on an ad hoc basis.  Contact the club for further details.

Sunday

9.00 – 10.30am

Long Run Session approximately 7-8miles at a steady pace.  We sometimes meet at a different location on the last Sunday of the month  Please e-mail or check social media for details.
